Grants Available for Alcohol Education Programs, Says Murt
2/19/2010

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is offering grant funds to colleges, universities and others to develop and/or maintain efforts to reduce and eliminate underage and dangerous use of alcohol, says Rep. Thomas P. Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia).

Funds are available to higher education institutions, school districts, municipalities and their community organizations (such as law enforcement departments and non-profit organizations) to be used for the planning and implementation of effective programs and other strategies to reduce underage and irresponsible instances of drinking.

The maximum award is $15,000, and only one grant application per entity is permitted.  The deadline to submit an application is Feb. 25.
